MSG241 SERIAL #1 SPENCER 1884 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN
Item # MSG241
32 inch Damascus barrel and Damascus magazine tube have turned a dark plum blue brown patina coloration; most Damascus pattern visible. Receiver turned mostly dark on right side and forward area of left-balance is a nickelly gray patina; sharp scroll and vine engraving with a hunter and dog scene on left side. Interesting that right side is marked 'Spencer Arm Co.' (without patent date). Engraving appears to be done by the New York master Louis D. Nimschke-quite elaborate. SN 1 is present on numerous parts throughout the gun. Of further interest is that the barrel bears the Model 1886 type address, the cond matches the rest of the gun perfectly and it appears no alterations have been made. VG walnut, short non-checkered pump handle, checkering on pistol grip somewhat worn; otherwise VG+ walnut. The carrier's forward area is of a different design than seen on other 1884's, etc.; the slot is very short. VG shiny bore with a few pits. Interesting Spencer; possibly one-of-a-kind.
Antique $ 7,750.

W1494 WINCHESTER MODEL 1895 HIGH WALL RIFLE
Item # W1494
Cal 32 Ideal. This gun originally left the factory as rifle, 32 Ideal, 30" half oct, #3 bbl, plain trigger, checkered pistol grip stock and shipped March 2, 1907. The gun now features a 30" full round #3 bbl. Take down frame. Double set triggers. Checkered pistol grip plain walnut stock. Special order rifle buttplate with a trapdoor. Fitted with a scope. It has the "WP" marks in front of the blocks. The cal marking is off to the side of the block and was factory applied no doubt. It is fitted with a B-4 Winchester scope. Globe with a spirit level front sight. Folding tang sight. Fine little gun! All the work is definitely factory. Scarce cal as only 230 were ever manufactured. Cond excellent+ with about 98% glossy blue. Excellent case colors on the hammer and lever. Someone neatly carved "1907" in the stock about 1/4" lettering. That was the date the gun was received back from the Winchester re-work. On the opposite side is a well done carved family crest.

Item # W1493
Orig 30" full round #3 bbl. Globe front sight. Typical flat top sporting rear sight and folding Lyman tang sight. This gun is fitted with 3X grade checkered deluxe walnut stock and a cheek piece and rifle style buttplate. Stock seems over-sized. Assembly number matches the lower tang numbers so I believe it to be orig. The Factory Letter lists all the features except it has plain pistol grip checkered stock with hard rubber buttplate. Either an error or it was returned to the factory and fitted with this stock. Definitely matches the rest of the gun. Bbl retains about 90% somewhat toning orig blue. Receiver has 90%+ vivid case color. Excellent mechanics. Nice clean little gun!

R1083 SERIAL NUMBER 7 REMINGTON HEPBURN DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN

Receiver is a gray/brown patina with some blue in the protected area around the saddle ring. Carbine ladder rear with ramped front sight from the Model 95. Wood is good looking and has a nice fit with the usual dings and wear present. The barrel on this rare variation is from the Model 95, 30-03/30-06 N.R.A. Musket. They were cut down from the original 24 inch length to eliminate the 30-03/30-06 chamber, and re-chambered to 30 WCF, then roll-marked with correct Model 94 barrel markings, and rethreaded and fitted on Model 94 receivers. The majority of these were 21-3/4 inch versions, and about 30 known 20-inch examples, all have rifling with 1-in-10 inch twist of the 30-03/30-06, instead of the 1-in-12 twist normally used for the 30 WCF. With only about 30 known, this is a very rare collectable Winchester for the hole in your 1894 collection!

MR1071 STANDARD ARMS RIFLE
Item # MR1071
Cal 30 which is the obsolete 30 Remington caliber. Standard Arms rifle was unique in the fact that they made a rifle that was suppose to be semi automatic but could also be used as a slide action. Very short production run of these guns in the early 1900's. Sounds silly to have a semi-auto pump rifle. It made sense in the day because of the variations of different ammo that may not always work as a semi-auto so you had the option to use the slide action. This gun has very nice bbl blue. The frame has quite a bit of blue on the left side and not so much on the right side. A decent stock. One cool thing about the Standard Arms was the buttplate and slide handle which were quite ornate. Most of the parts appear to be with the gun and even comes with a pouch containing cleaning accessories.
